Run #41

What an awesome run!  Best so far of training.  I needed to go 4.5, so I decided to go down to our old house.  I figured I would continue and go down through Bedford, hop on the Greenway, back.  Great run!  Low 9 minute mile the entire time.  Felt good!

Run #39 (and #40)

Well, another long run and another rain.  Very difficult run this time.  Raining hard, so I decided to go to the Y and run the dreadmill for awhile.  Did it for an hour, so got 6 miles in.  Then later in the day, the rain almost stopped, so I ran down Rainforest (appropriate) and back up Falls.  Got in another 9.5, so I could 15.5 for the day.  Hopefully, hopefully, I get a good, sunny run next week.

Run #38

Those two decent week runs this week played into a poor run for me today.  Only got in 3 of projected 4-5 miles.  Pretty sore and tired.  Long week too.  Hopefully will not rest up for this weekend.

Went for a run at work again.  This time ran through River Bend Park then the Bike Trail.  Total of 5.5 miles.  Overall not too bad.

Run #36

I am just like Kerry now--got a shirt with the thumb hole.  I made fun of her, but it actually makes sense, until you get soaked.  Ran a pretty strong run after the long run Saturday.  Was doing a lot of gear work, switching gears, and had enough to switch gears.

Run #35

What a run.  I knew we would have rain, but I thought I would get about an hour in at least.  No such luck.  Started raining on me right away.  At mile 8, started getting some ice.  Then eventually rain and snow mix, and by mile 11, all snow.  Pretty heavy by the time I got home.  Very cold too.  Wool gloves and my orange running shirt keep me warm, but two + hours of wet stops working.

Run #34

A surprisingly much better run today.  Thank goodness, as the doubts began to creep in again.  Went through Falls River and around the dump.  Powered up the hills with little effort.  Good last run before the long run this weekend.

Run #33

So a cool, rainy, yucky run.  I intended to go right down Falls of Neuse and do the Harps Mill loop for 6 miles.  I started, and felt pretty poorly.  I crossed Litchford into the neighborhoods, and decided to find the pedestrian bridge over 540.  Found it--and very excited I did.  Very cool, as you can see those ramps leading up to the bridge, sort of like a parking garage.  Very fun to sprint up it.  Came out on the other side and down Falls.  Ended up doing 6 miles and getting stronger as I ran.  Just not a good starting running.

Run #32

Decent run in the rain.  Actually not too bad after the long run this Saturday.  Just some hills and more focuses.

Run #31

Long run Saturday.  Went down Perry Creek to hop on the Greenway.  Then I decided to cross the bridge into Wake Forest.  The picture is looking toward the Greenway from the Wake Forest side.  Mistake though, as I tuckered out once I got back to Falls of Neuse.  Really need to keep training outside the runs.

Run #30

Yup, those are a bunch of deer on one of the dump hills.  There were probably 20-30 of them all over today.  Decent run, much better at the end.  Beginnings continue to be a struggle, like they always have been.  Cool and some sprinkles.  Worried about conditioning--really really got to hit the weights and some cross training.  Big, important run Saturday.

Run #29

Decided to run during lunch hour today. Pretty interesting, running through Louisburg--as lots of people out and students, just watching me.  Decent run--4ish miles, some hills.  Getting some foot pain at times and a little winded, but not too much.  Real fun came back at work, doing a Polish shower and washing hair in sink!

Run #27

Long Saturday run.  Pretty cold for the first three miles, then my feet warmed up.   Nothing more painful than frozen toes in Vibrams.  Did a decent run, but cut it a little shirt.  Wanted to make sure I had enough, so I will look to do more this week and follow up with a long run next Saturday.  Good hill work on Haymarket and Rainwater though.

Run 26--Cancelled!

Decided to cut another run this week.  Not anything specific, but just figured with my long run today, an extra day of rest and healing would be appreciated.  Hopefully this run today will reflect the rest!
